Strengthening the Future of Our Communities
At Pitane, we believe in the boundless potential of First Nations peoples and the power of hope as a force for transformation.
As a proudly Indigenous-owned firm, we bring bold vision, cultural strength, and community-first strategies to every project with hopes of empowering Nations across Canada to shape their own futures through economic development, revitalization, and social empowerment.

Pitane (Pih-ta-nee)
“Pitane” in Plains Cree means hope and that is both our name and our purpose.
Founder’s Message - Why We Do This Work
Pitane began as a conversation — a shared belief that communities thrive when culture leads, when solutions are rooted in integrity, and when people are truly heard.
Founded by a team with Cree, Tsimshian, and first-generation Canadian heritage, Pitane was born from lived experience, from seeing firsthand the barriers communities face and imagining something different, development that empowers instead of displaces, and planning that listens instead of dictates.
While our foundation is First Nations, our purpose is universal, to walk beside all communities and partners committed to creating a more equitable, resilient future.
Every project is a relationship. Every service is a responsibility. And every success belongs to the people who shape it. That is what continues to drive us forward with care, culture, and trust.

Culturally Grounded Solutions That Drive Real Change
Pitane Consulting works with communities in reclaiming, planning, and managing their lands and economies through culturally grounded strategies. From housing developments and land-use planning to sustainable enterprise creation, to ensure growth is locally driven, future-focused, and aligned with community values.
Pitane Consulting is dedicated to working with communities to design and deliver culturally grounded education, and leadership initiatives. Through intergenerational mentorship and the active involvement of both elders and youth, we endeavor to foster resilient leadership, knowledge transfer, and long-term community empowerment.
Our work is focused on supporting communities in reconnecting with culture and traditions through thoughtful strategies, community-driven planning, and the co-creation of educational resources. Each initiative is tailored to honour and revitalize culture in ways that are meaningful, intergenerational, and grounded in local strengths.
